In Indian society, girls and young women from the lower castes have little chance of receiving an education because their parents consider it a pointless investment and they are basically considered incapable of doing so. Even though the number of parents who provide their daughters with at least a school education is steadily increasing, there are still few opportunities to learn a trade and get a job after graduation, especially for women from the poorer classes.

To offer families from poor backgrounds the chance of a better life, AVC in Delhi is committed to providing further training for women. In the sewing courses, they are taught the basics of sewing clothes for themselves and their children or even running their own sewing studio, thus contributing to the family's livelihood. The appreciation that these women experience in the sewing courses is often decisively important for a new perspective on life. After completing the training, each woman receives a sewing machine.

Other offerings include courses in hygiene, health and family planning, computer courses and literacy programs.
